The sudden snow in the beginning of January highlighted the problems suffered by residents in such difficult weather conditions. The 128 crashed into a wall in Firle Crescent during the snowstorm. This was exacerbated by the lack of gritting by the council especially not prioritizing the bus route. Despite continued pleas over the years to the council, they will not make any changes. To try and help matters a WhatsApp group called ‘Nevill Snow Angels’ has been set up. So far, fifteen people have joined; offering to help vulnerable neighbours by clearing snow using NRA snow shovels. The cost of refilling the two grit bins that the association owns is being looked into; whether to buy our own bags of salt or rely on the council’s expensive suppliers.
