Chair: Carole Kirby
I spent most of my childhood on Nevill, leaving later to go to college in London. Then, after living in Kent for several years, I returned to Nevill with my husband and two children to be near my parents. I was persuaded by a previous chair of NRA to take over the editorship of the NRA newsletter, which I have been doing for the last fourteen years. I joined the committee two years ago. My hope is to keep Nevill an attractive place to live, and that its easy access to the downs and the town centre is maintained.Secretary: Lesley Healey
I’ve lived on the Nevill since 2004, having moved from York for work. I knew nothing about Lewes when I moved, but really struck lucky when I moved onto this estate. It is such a great community; I am the envy of my friends! Since I retired, I’ve been able to do more locally, including volunteering. I stood for the NRA Committee because I want our estate to continue to be a supportive, tolerant and generous place where the very young to the very old feel they belong.Treasurer: John Somerville
I moved to the Nevill with Imogen, and our three children in 1998. We bought what was possibly the cheapest house in Lewes at the time, one of the unmodernised North Way concrete houses. The five of us lived in a yurt in the garden for a month in a very cold spring until the house was “ready” to move into. I’m now retired and have never regretted moving to the Nevill, we have here an almost perfect combination of town and country and a vibrant lively community, and of course the Nevill Residents Association, for which I now volunteer as treasurer.
